The Town of Chadbourn is located just southeast of Future I-74 at the intersection of US 76 and NC 410.  Every May the town’s residents (population 2,125) and visitors come together to enjoy the parades, pageants and auctions at the NC Strawberry Festival.

Lake Waccamaw, with a population of just over 1,350, is named after one of the town’s main attractions.  This natural freshwater lake is a 5 mile by 7 mile oval covering almost 9,000 acres.  It’s the largest of the Carolina Bay Lakes, and it’s one of the oldest too, having been around for more than 250,000 years.

Tabor City sits on US Hwy 701 at the South Carolina border, only a 30-minute drive from Myrtle Beach. This community of 4,000 is home to several industrial facilities, the Tabor Industrial Park and every October it hosts the NC Yam Festival.

Whiteville, with a population of 5,168, is both the largest city in Columbus County and the seat of county government.  The city is located in the geographic center of the county at the intersection of US 701 and US 74/74 (Future I-74), and is home to the NC Pecan Harvest Festival every November.
